Restraint is another defining factor. Authority doesn’t require abundance. In fact, excess often weakens it. Rooms with authority leave things unsaid. They allow empty space to exist without apology.

Consistency matters more than variety. Repeating materials, tones, and forms subtly reinforces cohesion. Masculine rooms rarely rely on contrast alone—they rely on rhythm.
